Current Situation:
Small home business that’s grown from 1 to 3 staff and expanding. They currently use a basic home phone and a cordless phone, each on separate phone lines.
They can’t transfer calls to each other and have to get up to take calls or pass the cordless around the office. If a person rings the main number and someone is speaking, callers get an engaged signal. They know they are missing calls and they also wanted to sound like a larger company. The Brief:
To have a system that:

- Can transfer calls

- Can expand as they need to in the future
- Can still connect their cordless phone so they can answer calls when they are making lunch etc.

- Offers the latest VoIP technology because they may want that for the future.

The Solution:
The LG-Nortel Aria 24IPE fitted the bill incredibly well. It’s very easy to use and comes with free analogue extensions that allows them to connect their current cordless at no cost.
The system now allows the staff to transfer, put callers on hold, has speaker phones (which they said “comes in very handy”) and also gave them 500 speed dial numbers which they use for quickly and efficiently contacting customers.
On top of the basic system we also added Auto Attendant, Voicemail and Professional Messages On Hold.
The Auto Attendant acts as a backup for staff are on the phone. Rather than stop a call to answer another, the Auto Attendant now answers after 6 rings and says “Thank you for calling ABC, your call is important and we will be with you in a moment”. This ensures they never miss calls, and it sounds incredibly professional.
The Voicemail answers after hours and allows customers to leave a message. It can deal with 2 calls at once (unlike the answering machine) and it sounds professional. They also used the Voicemail for individual staff.
Professional Messages On Hold – this capped off the solution and made their business sound professional. They now sound like a large company and callers have no idea they are calling a small home office. Read more
