Perfect for everyday users, the new Avaya 1608 IP handset for VoIP applications replaces the outgoing 5610 phone.   The new Avaya 1600 series range takes on a more traditional look and offers colour coded flashing lights that are very popular with staff and were missing from the previous handsets.  If you're looking for the cheaper, yet identical, digital phone then you're after the new Avaya 1408 digital phone .

The equivalent handset to look at in the premium Avaya 9600 series series is the 9608 .   Unlike the 1608 that has 8 function keys and uses paper labels, the 9608 has a very large display and everything is digital and on screen.   Either way, both are excellent solutions for the average staff member that uses the phone on a daily basis.   If you're after gigabit connectivity, not 10/100, then the 9600 series is for you.
