Most clients using the Alcatel 4029 love the large screen and easy layout. However, when working out which handsets you should get with your new Omni PCX phone system also look at the standard Alcatel 4019 digital phone. Our typical small business customer usually has a combination of both.
Our advice is use the Alcatel 4019 handsets where staff really only use their handsets for making and receiving calls. At approx $100 less they are a great addition to your Alcatel phone system.
The navigation key (the silver round button) on the Alcatel 4029 makes access to the systems other functions straightforward, the large screen is easy to see, while the other main function buttons are basically fool proof.
Alcatel has cleverly made them different colours so they stand out. Red flashing means you have a voicemail, orange is to activate speakerphone, yellow is mute. It is a great looking, incredibly well designed handset.
This handset is different from a normal key station because the screen is a LCD display and you can scroll down to see more than the 6 items listed on the first screen. Think of it more like a mobile phone that you can scroll down using the large navigator button on the console.
The keyboard down the bottom of the console is a great feature that some customers can't live without. It allows you the fastest access to your speed dial numbers of any brand. Just type in the first letter of who you are trying to ring and it will bring them all up on screen. Then all you do is hit OK and it dials. It takes just seconds before you are speaking to your contact.
You can also use the keyboard for internal messaging in the office. It's not a gimmick but a great feature other brands should consider implementing.
If you wanted to see more than 6 people on your "first screen" (remember you can scroll through) then seriously look at the extra button consoles that are available.
