Alcatel 4039 - Key Handset Features
This is the receptionist handset or main phone that that works with the Alcatel OMNI PCX phone system for small business. The 4039 is inteillgent, robust, good looking and offers users functional and easy-to-use features:

- The ability to see 30+ staff by scrolling down the screen
- Hands free Speakerphone

- Easy access to voicemail messages
- Easy access of up to 3000 speed dial numbers
- Loudspeaker for paging
- Much more….
To look at the 4039 handset is almost identical to the 4029 executive phone except that it has 10 soft keys not 6. This means you can see more on the screen without having to scroll down. It is compulsory to have at least one 4039 on an Alcatel phone system for programming purposes but that is all you really need.
The Alcatel 4029 phone is approximately $100 less than the 4039 and all most small business customers need. In fact, when working out which handsets should go with your new Omni PCX phone system, also look at the standard 4019 digital phone. Our typical small business customer usually have one reception 4039 phone and a combination of 4029 and 4019 handsets in their offices.
Our advice is use the 4019 handsets where staff really only use their handsets for making and receiving calls. At approx $200 less than the 4039 they are a great addition to your Alcatel telephone system.
The 4039 handset navigation key (the silver round button) makes access to the systems other functions straightforward, the large screen is easy to see, while the other main function buttons are basically fool proof.
Alcatel has cleverly made them different colours so they stand out. Red flashing means you have a voicemail, yellow is to activate speakerphone, orange is to hang up a call etc... It's a great looking, incredibly well designed handset.
This handset is different from a normal key station because the screen is a LCD display and you can scroll down to see more than the 10 items listed on the first screen. Think of it more like a mobile phone that you can scroll down using the large navigator button on the console.
The keyboard down the bottom of the console is a great feature that some customers can't live without. It allows you the fastest access to your speed dial numbers of any brand. Just type in the first letter of who you are trying to ring and it will bring them all up on screen. Then all you do is hit OK and it dials. It takes just seconds before you are speaking to your contact.
You can also use the keyboard for internal messaging in the office. It's not a gimmick but a great feature other brands should consider implementing.
If you wanted to see more than 10 people on your "first screen" then seriously look at the extra button consoles that are available.
