Typically used as the receptionist handset or primary phone, the 7024 IP handset is the flagship in the 7000 series. Incredibly easy to use, it uses a proven combination of navigation keys and menu keys to make operation a breeze.
Your LG phone system requires at least one 7016 or 7024 handset for basic programming. However, the only difference between these 2 handsets is the fact that the 7016 has 8 less programmable buttons. If you have a smaller business and don’t need the extra buttons offered by the 7024, the 7016 may be better value for money.
Looking for a near identical but less expensive non-IP version of this phone? Take a look at the popular 7024 digital handset.
Key features of the 7024 include:
- 3-line, 24 character LCD screen
- Easy navigation keys

- Multi-colour line keys
- 24 flexible keys can be assigned to line status, speed dial numbers or direct station
- Headset jack

To improve productivity, these buttons all offer one-touch operation. For example, to call a colleague you’d simply look at their flex key to see if they were free or not. Then it’s just a matter of pressing that key to call them, and hanging up to transfer the call.
Larger companies can expand this functionality with an optional LG Aria 48 button DSS console. This connects to the side of the 7024 and adds another 48 flex keys to the handset, giving you a total of 72 programmable keys to display lines, speed dials, etc.
As an IP phone handset, the 7024 unlocks a host of extra features from your LG Ericsson phone system. As well as savings of up to 70% on your call costs, you’ll also enjoy the ability to connect remote staff to your phone network as well as link multiple branches of your company under the one phone system. In addition, the 7024 handset automatically configures itself as soon as it is plugged in, which enormously simplifies extension changes and additions.
The most logical menu choices are displayed on the screen of the 7024, and these can be selected using the 3 hot keys underneath it. These choices change depending on the activity you are using the phone for at that time. For example, when making a phone call they would present functions like transfer, conference or mute. However, if you then used voicemail they would change to offer voicemail menu options. The 7024 uses the same jog dial as the 7016, presenting the user with a fast and efficient way to navigate the huge number of contact details stored on the handset.
This headset is part of Alcatel’s 7000 series which means it is compatible with a few different types of Alcatel IP phone systems. If you are looking to use these handsets exclusively with the iPECS system then take a look at the 8000 series. These are just as feature rich but are less expensive, due to the fact they are only compatible with the iPECS.
