ISDN 10/20/30 Phone Lines (Telstra Services)
ISDN 10/20/30 is an optimal solution for businesses that need 10+ phone lines. This option allows you to buy lines in bundles of 10, 20 or 30 instead of 2’s (as with the ISDN2 services).
So what? The benefit is that primary rate, or ISDN 10/20/30, gives you the cheapest phone line rentals available on normal services (not VoIP). By reducing your line rentals by up to $10 a line you can save $1000’s a year!
Direct In Dial numbers for staff (100 number block)
Perhaps the bets feature of ISDN is the ability to have the optional 100 number block. Now this can be confusing but it’s worth it…
Rather than only having one advertised number like traditional PSTN lines, ISDN allows you to have numbers for each staff member if you like. For example, if you have 100 staff and 10 ISDN phone lines, you can provide each staff member with their own personal number.
However, it does not mean that you have 100 phone lines. We are talking about numbers, not lines. In this example only 10 phone calls can occur simultaneously because that’s the total number of lines. If an 11th caller rang in they would receive an engaged signal.
This is a fantastic feature for cut down the load on reception points and allow staff to have direct contact with clients. It is a completely optional feature and costs an extra $35 a month approximately.
Another example of the benefit of the 100 number range is for market research. You can advertise a different phone number on different web pages, in the Yellow Pages, direct mail – however your business advertises – and then compare the number of calls that come in from each, to see which has been the most effective.
